Sinus Lift
Your safety and comfort is our priority
What is a Sinus Lift?
A sinus lift (also called sinus augmentation) is a surgical procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars, just below the sinus cavity. It's commonly done when there's not enough bone height in the upper jaw to support a dental implant.

A dental implant can be placed 4 months after the sinus lift.

Anesthesia Options
We’ll help you choose the right anesthesia option based on your needs, level of anxiety, and medical history:
-
Local Anesthesia: Numbs only the area around the teeth. You're awake but feel no pain.
-
Nitrous Oxide ("Laughing Gas"): Used with local anesthesia to help you relax.
-
IV Sedation: You are deeply relaxed and may not remember the procedure.

Procedure
A sinus lift takes around 45min - 1.5 hours depending on the size of the graft:
-
Preparation: Once anesthesia is administered, the area is completely numb.
-
Incision: A small incision is made in the gum tissue near the back upper jaw to expose the jawbone.
-
Access Window: A small opening(lateral window) is made in the side wall of the maxillary bone (the bone separating the mouth from the sinus) using a piezoelectric tool.
-
Sinus Lift: The thin membrane lining the inside of the sinus (called the Schneiderian membrane) is carefully detached and lifted upward, creating a pocket of space beneath it
-
Suture: The gum tissue is repositioned and sutured closed.
-
After 4 months of healing, an implant can be placed.
