Your safety and comfort is our priority
What is a Implant?
Dental implants are permanent, natural-looking replacements for missing teeth. They are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone, where they act as artificial tooth roots. Once healed, a healing abutment is placed onto the screw to connect the screw and the later crown. Lastly, a crown, bridge, or denture is attached to restore full function and appearance.

The general timeline for a implant is:
-
Implant evaluation (e.g. if bone graft for sinus lift is needed)
-
Implant placement (heal for 3 months in a process called osseointegration, where the titanium screw fuses with the bone)
-
Healing abutment placement on the implants(let gums heal for 1-2 weeks)
-
All set to get crown placed by your restorative dentist

How is an implant placed?
Before an implant is placed, you need to be evaluated using a CBCT scan to determine if you have enough bone to support an implant.

Depending on where the bone is insufficient, a sinus lift or bone graft may be necessary.

To place the implant, we drill a hole where the implant will go, then insert the implant post. A cover screw is placed in while waiting for the bone to heal around the implant.

After around 3 months, the cover screw is removed and we check the implant's integrity using an Osstell tool. If everything is good to go, we set the healing abutment on top, suturing the gums together around the abutment.

After the gums have healed for 1-2 weeks, you're ready to get a crown from your restorative dentist!

Why get an Implant?
A dental implant is the most advanced and long-lasting solution for replacing missing teeth. It restores your ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence—while also protecting your oral health for the long term.

-
Helps prevent bone loss. Missing teeth cause the jawbone to shrink over time.
-
Restores normal speaking and chewing.
-
Preventing shifting/drifting of neighboring teeth, preserving your bite.
-
Looks and feels great!
