What is Facial Contouring?

Facial contouring is a specialized treatment that reshapes bones and soft tissues of your face, such as the jaw, chin, and cheeks, to enhance symmetry, balance, or correct functional issues. Facial contouring is performed by skilled surgeons with expertise in facial anatomy, ensuring results that are natural-looking, symmetrical, and long-lasting.

We offer Mandibuloplasty, also known as V-line surgery, which primarily slims down the jaw into a V-line shape, often changing the jaw angle or the lower border of the chin and lower jaw.

What are my options?

At Park Avenue Oral Surgery, we offer Mandibuloplasty in-office. After an initial consult and a CBCT scan, a planning phase will begin where we model how your jaw will look like after the surgery. The surgery will be done inside the mouth, without external scars. Your jaw will either be shaved done, or filled with bone grafts.

The surgery can either be done in isolation or done in conjunction with other surgeries such as Jaw Surgery or Chin Surgery

Afterwards, you will have a recovery period of around 1-3 weeks, consisting of keeping your mouth clean, not overstraining your jaw, not smoke, having a liquid diet that eases into a soft diet, and taking pain, antibiotic, and inflammation medications.
