"Measure twice, cut once." Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) is an advanced operation design tool we use to make jaw surgery more precise, predictable, and efficient.

Using detailed 3D images from a CT scan, our surgical team creates a virtual model of your jaw and surrounding structures. This allows us to simulate your surgery on the computer before it happens, adjusting your jaw position, bite, and facial balance until we reach the ideal result.

From this plan, we create custom surgical guides and splints using 3D printing, which ensure your surgery follows the exact movements we planned. By doing the “blueprint” work ahead of time, we can shorten your time in surgery, improve accuracy, and help you better visualize your expected outcome. VSP is one of the ways we combine advanced technology with surgical expertise to deliver safer procedures and the best possible results.

CT-guided implant placement is a modern technique we use to make dental implant surgery more accurate, predictable, and safe.

The process begins with a 3D CT scan of your jaws, which gives us a detailed view of your bone, surrounding teeth, and important structures like nerves and sinuses. Using this scan, we create a virtual model of your mouth and plan the exact position, angle, and depth for each implant before your surgery.

This informs the oral surgeon of your anatomy and helps ensure your implants are placed in the ideal position for strength, function, and appearance, while reducing the risk of complications and often shortening the procedure time.

Piezoelectric surgery is a gentle, highly precise technique we use for certain oral and jaw procedures. Instead of traditional drills or saws, this method uses ultrasonic vibrations to cut bone while leaving the surrounding soft tissues—such as gums, nerves, and blood vessels—untouched.

The tip of the piezoelectric instrument moves at ultrasonic speeds, allowing us to make extremely accurate cuts with less heat, reduced bleeding, and minimal trauma to the area. This results in smoother healing, less post-operative discomfort, and often faster recovery times. We commonly use piezoelectric surgery for delicate work such as sinus lifts and jaw reshaping, especially when precision and tissue preservation are critical.

Exparel is a long-lasting, non-opioid pain relief option we can use to help keep you comfortable after surgery. It is a special form of the common local anesthetic bupivacaine, designed to slowly release medication over about three days.

During your procedure, we place Exparel directly into the surgical area, where it works to numb the site and control pain as you recover. Because it provides extended relief, many patients need fewer—or no—opioid pain medications afterward, which can reduce side effects like drowsiness, nausea, or constipation. Exparel is often used for oral and jaw surgeries to make recovery smoother, allowing you to rest, eat, and heal with less discomfort. Our goal with this option is to help you manage pain safely and effectively, so you can focus on getting back to normal as quickly as possible.
