What is an All-on-X Implant?

All-on-X is a full-arch dental implant solution that replaces all missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw using as few as four to six implants. It's a permanent alternative to dentures that provides a fixed, natural-looking smile—often completed in just one day.

The “X” refers to the number of implants used, which varies depending on your bone condition and treatment plan (e.g., All-on-4, All-on-6).

A custom, fixed temporary bridge will be placed the same day the implants are placed, with a permanent bridge placed 3-6 months later.

How is an All-on-X Implant placed?

1. Planning

  • Digital scans and 3D imaging are used to assess your bone and design your new smile.

2. Implant Placement

  • Typically, 4 to 6 implants are placed strategically in the jawbone.

  • Implants at the back may be placed at an angle to maximize contact with existing bone—this avoids bone grafting in many cases.

3. Temporary Teeth (Same-Day)

  • A custom, fixed temporary bridge is attached the same day or within 24 hours.

  • You leave the office with a new smile right away.

4. Healing & Final Restoration

  • Over 3–6 months, the implants fuse with your jawbone (osseointegration).

  • Then, a permanent bridge (stronger and longer-lasting) is placed.

Why get an All-on-X Implant?

When working with a full arch of missing teeth in a row, All-on-X implants are done faster, more cost effective, and uniform. There is no adhesives or soaking like with removable dentures.

They are:

  • Fixed (non-removable) teeth that look and function like natural ones

  • Placed with same-day teeth (temporary bridge attached right after surgery)

  • Cost-effective and faster to function: fewer implants required compared to replacing teeth one by one

  • Helps preserve jawbone and facial structure
