Exparel Extended Pain Relief
Your safety and comfort is our priority

What is Exparel?
Exparel is a post-surgical non-opioid pain-relief medication called bupivacaine, a local anesthetic, but in a special form that enables it to be released slowly over time, providing extended localized pain relief up to 72 hours. The bupivacaine is encapsulated in multivesicular liposomes (DepoFoam® delivery system), enabling the release of local anesthetic slowly directly into the surgical site. It is used locally for patients 6 and older and regionally for adults only.
It's avoids the complications and hassles with out pain management medications and methods.
-
Exparel does not contain opiods, so there's no risk of developing opiod dependence and long-term abuse.
-
Since it does not involve continuous delivery of medication, there's no need to be hooked up to pumps and catheters, which limits mobility and has potential for mistakes and overdose toxicity.

Convenient
Exparel is injected once and effective locally, so there's no need for external devices to be hooked onto you. You may also be discharged sooner since Exparel is long-lasting.
Safer
Exparel does not have opiod abuse risks since it does not use opiod medication. It is also only one type of local anesthetic and not a compounded cocktail, so there's less potential complications. Since it's application is simpler than having to maintain a continuous delivery system, it reduces moving parts and risks.
Cheaper
Exparel uses much less medication that it takes to fill a pump and cathether system, so it costs you less.
